Our take
This Saladmaster Five Star is almost identical to the Salad King model, but with a polished vintage look. The five cones cover all the basics, and the stainless build feels like it will last a lifetime—especially with the lifetime warranty. Hand cranking is effective but slow for big jobs; you’ll work up a sweat shredding a whole cabbage. The chrome finish looks great but shows fingerprints easily. It’s a solid choice if you want durability and don’t mind manual effort. Great for small to medium batches, but electric processors win for speed.
